Rocky Colorado

While sitting at the gate for my flight to Alaska (yes, I'll be posting pix) I realized that I have yet to share Colorado Springs from the beginning of the month.  It has certainly been an interesting September.  A bit of a whirlwind, and to say that I've preoccupied is an understatement.  Yet, enough of my whining, and on to the pix!

I had the pleasure of working in Colorado Springs.  It was a double pleasure because I had the opportunity to be with two of my fabulous colleagues.   After a day of traveling with a food hangover, we went to the Woodstock fair the day before and I indulged, it was a treat to have my breath taken away from this immediate view.  Not too shabby, huh?  Even better is that each morning I was greeted with the same view as I left my hotel.

We decided to enjoy the nature the city had to offer while working, and a 'hiking' we went in the Garden of the Gods.  I'll let them speak for themselves.

Did I mention that I had a spectacular view from my hotel?  One of the things that I absolutely loved about the mountains is how they looked different throughout the day.  In the morning they had this spectacular orange-pink color, late morning/early afternoon the sky was crisp and clear, late afternoon you could tell there were storms a brewing up there.  It absolutely amazed me how the color of the mountains changed with the weather on them!  I adore sunrises and this one has to be one of my faves!!!

It is my hope that I have the opportunity to visit Colorado again.  I definitely could've used more time there!  The natural beauty of the state has plenty to offer!
